Test GA4 lead tracking before trusting conversions

Count successful submissions once; treat clicks and opens as diagnostics, not leads.

Use the procedure on a representative sample, keep the evidence, and record the next action.

Verify one real submission end to end

  • Write the event contract: trigger, required parameters, success condition, deduplication key, and data that must never be sent.
  • Submit a valid test form once. Verify the server confirms success, the thank-you state appears, and exactly one event is sent.
  • Use Tag Assistant and GA4 DebugView to inspect event name and parameters. Test validation errors, refresh, back navigation, and duplicate clicks.
  • Confirm consent behavior and exclude names, email addresses, phone numbers, message text, and other personal data from analytics.
