Review search snippets using Search Console data

Find high-impression pages with a relevant query and investigate the result before editing.

Use the procedure on a representative sample, keep the evidence, and record the next action.

Choose a snippet change test

  • In Search Console select the correct property, Web search, page/query, country, device, and comparable date range.
  • Inspect queries with meaningful impressions and low CTR, but account for position, intent, SERP features, and changing competitors.
  • Check what Google currently displays; title links and snippets can differ from the page metadata. Confirm the landing page answers the query.
  • Change one relevant element, annotate the date, and compare an adequate period with the same filters. Do not infer causality from a small sample.
