GA4 SEO report lab

Choose a report view, filter organic traffic, and compare sessions, engagement, and key events with sample data.

Use these steps as a working checklist and adapt them to the project’s evidence, scope, and constraints.

Practical steps

  • Select a report to explore. The table and chart use fictional sample data, not a connected GA4 property.
  • Choose Organic Search to isolate the session channel. Compare the same date ranges, property, and filters before interpreting a change.
  • Use Traffic acquisition to compare session channels, then Landing pages to see which first pages receive sessions and key events.
  • Engagement rate is engaged sessions divided by sessions. It is not a conversion rate; use key events to inspect tracked business actions.
  • A channel with more sessions may still bring fewer qualified enquiries. Check event definitions and lead quality in your own CRM before allocating budget.
